When thinking of building a home, most buyers will spend a lot of time researching a building company. They will talk to other home owners who used the same builder, look up information on the internet, compare plans and pricing, and a host of other things. However, many do not consider one very valuable component in the building of a home, and that is the superintendent for the builder. The superintendent is really the key to the success of the entire project from start to finish.  Just a few of his responsibilities are meeting with the home owners to establish the home’s location on the lot, supervising the grading, and the pouring of the slab (or basement). He will also meet with the home owners and agents at various times for scheduled walk throughs and onsite meetings to discuss the various phases of construction. His oversight will insure the quality of the all work and materials provided by suppliers and subcontractors.

At GFC, we are very proud of our superintendent, Donnie Collier, and feel that he is one of the biggest reasons to choose our company when building your home. Donnie has been building homes for over 26 years and has the knowledge and expertise that surpasses many in the building industry. He has owned his own framing company and has extensive knowledge in framing and grading. He has held a supervisory role over 300 homes. Donnie also possesses superb personal skills that anyone building a home would place a high value upon. His friendly and down to earth nature will insure that the building process will be enjoyable.  He goes above and beyond the typical course of business and integrates home buyers in the process to ensure their satisfaction.  Remember, building a home takes a number of months, you will want to review the characteristics for the supervisor who will be your primary contact!

So, when looking to build your new home, make sure that you don’t forget to ask questions concerning who your superintendent will be.  Take time to discover his experience and his personality!  No one involved in the build process is more important.

At Green Forest Construction, we understand the importance of a great superintendent and we have found that in Donnie Collier.
